Exceptional red Bandol vintage Fontanéou 2006 (the 2008 follow, a little more supple), resulting from Mourvèdre planted on a ground argilo-limestone (yields of 30 hl/ha, 35 year old vines), not filtered, which develops nuances of leather and ripe raspberry, a wine dense and powerful with the nose as in mouth, tasty, slightly peppered finally, of slow evolution. The 2005, not yet with maturity, with nuances of violet and liquorice, rich color, traditional and concentrated, combining smoothness and structure, full, a wine which continues its beautiful evolution. Beautiful 2004, of a very great aromatic complexity, coloured and scented, robust, with tannins tasty and dense, fleshy as it should be, rich and traditional, of robe intense crimson, scented (red fruits with fresh core, grooves, humus…). The vintage red Estagnol 2004 (88% Mourvèdre on red clay soil, 40 year old vines on average and 21 month maturing in tuns), is fleshy, a wine with these intense notes of red small fruits overripe and spices, fleshy, coloured and scented, robust, with tasty and dense tannins, to uncork on poulard in crust with salt, for example. 2003 are marked by this nose with prevailing of ripe red fruits and violet, a great wine powerful, very complex, with tasty and very rich tannins, very scented (blackcurrant, spices, pepper…), of a beautiful complexity finally. Superb 2001, with the nuances of ripe red fruits characteristic (bilberry, black cherry), of undergrowth, a coloured and robust wine, with the nose prevailed by currant and of the subtly spiced notes, powerful stops some and charmer. Red Bandol Bastide Blanche 2008 (78% Mourvèdre, 22% Grenache, 35 year old vines, 18 months maturing in tuns), garnet-red black robe, with the nose of violet and blackberry, fleshy, with notes of scrub, pepper and liquorice, fleshy in mouth as it should be. Rosy Bandol 2008 is always the best of the appellation (44% Mourvèdre, 33% Cinsault and 23% Grenache, with some 18 year old vines), of beautiful a very pale pink, fond of delicacies mouth prevailed by apricot and the fresh flowers, suave as it should be, spiced well as one needs it, ideal on the poultry pots, a wine which particularly allured us. The white (49% Clairette, 38% white Ugni, 8% Bourboulenc and 5% Sauvignon, 19 year old vines on average, 5 months maturing out of tanks stainless), finely having a nice bouquet with notes of hazel nut and peach, with a beautiful balance between freshness, the roundness and the fruity one, are of supple and fresh mouth at the same time, charmer by his promptness, vinified very well. |
