Pernand-Vergelesses Domaine Piere Marey et Fils

Domaine Pierre MAREY et Fils
At the top. Pierre and Eric Marey take care with love on their nice vineyard of 10 ha. The wines are maturing in oak barrels and are followed by a laboratory during all their evolution. The wines are mainly sold with the winegrowing near faithful customers of private individuals, and the remainder is dispatched with the restoration, at cellars with wine, in France like abroad. Envoûtant Corton-Charlemagne 2006, where the sweetness is combined with a freshness of a great intensity, with mineral and floral scents complex, of beautiful evolution, a wine which agrees as well with shellfish as on a veal escalope to the cream. Corton Grand Cru 2006, with the aromas of leather, spices and raspberry, with supple but very well-balanced tannins, is of unctuous mouth, at the same time delicate and powerful, of fort beautiful evolution. The 2005 are a great wine with silky, solid and fleshy tannins, of a beautiful harmony, very full, mouthfull. Beautiful Pernand-Vergelesses Les Fichots Premier Cru red 2006, of color intense crimson, with rich and tasty tannins, very scented (ripe, spices…), associating fleshy and intensity, of good guard. The 2005, a great success in this exceptional vintage, are a wine spiced, rich and complex, mouthfull, agreeably robust, of guard of course like this other red Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles 2006, with tannins present, rich and scented, marked well by its soil, with these crystallized, combining structure and subtle velvety prune notes stops some, full and fleshy, of guard. Taste also Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Frétille white Premier Cru 2006, with aromas of fern and fruits fresh, rich, tasty and full, typified well.

Morey-Saint-Denis Domaine Stéphane Magnien

Domaine Stéphane MAGNIEN
The winegrowing such as it arises today is the result of the work of 4 generations of wine growers. Stephan joined the estate in 2002. Maintained since 30 years only by ploughings, the forever known winegrowing of weeding. Vintage with sorting with the vine, traditional wine making, fermenting 2 good weeks, the wines in general neither are stuck nor filtered, and are matured out of barrels from 12 to 18 months on average. All that gives this Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2006, with the nuances of violet, currant and pepper, at supple tannins and well present at the same time, a wine with much of structure, very delicate concentrate but, all finally. Superb Charmes-Chambertin 2006, with the connotations of black cherry surmûrie, blackcurrant and pepper, cordial mouth as it should be, a long final. Very typified Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Sentiers 2006, with these intense aromas (currant, blackberry) and this spice point, with tasty tannins, combining fleshy and intensity. At their sides, Morey Premier Cru Faconnière 2006 and this Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru Aux Petites Noix 2006, fleshy and very scented, rich with the nose as in mouth, of large structure, color crimson.

Pinot Noir Dominique et Julien Frey

Our family winegrowing cultivates 13 ha of vines on 3 communes (Dambach la Ville, Scherwiller and Châtenois). Our ancestors, coming from Switzerland, settled in Dambach la Ville at the 17th century and practiced the mixed-farming like very many Alsatian families. It is with my grandfather Joseph FREY and my Charles father that the sale out of bottle started. Nathalie and Dominique give a new commercial dash to Winegrowing FREY Charles and Dominique with the first exports in the European countries or to Japan, Canada, the United States. In 1997, we decided to pass the estate in biological culture under Ecocert control. Since 2001, we practice the biodynamy with much happiness. We try to transmit to the wine energy and the life which we give to the grapes so that this one is more digeste and most alive possible. Above all, the culture biodynamics is a work of care of the ground. It is a question of ensuring balance and of creating harmonious living conditions of it between ground, plant and environment. The various treatments of the vine are systematically accompanied by herb teas of plants (nettle, prêle, willow). The compost and the work of the ground are fundamental. The grapes are gathered manually. The grape is versed in entirety on the press without pressing nor picking off in order not to damage it. Pressing is done slowly and carefully. After fermentation, the wines are matured on lees until spring. Excellent Riesling Frankstein Grand cru 2005, of a beautiful yellow color clearly, with the nose prevailed by the white flowers (hawthorn), of very fruity and persistent mouth, quite well-balanced. Tasty Pinot gray fermented of Ours 2006, resulting from old vines from 15 to 35 years, powerful with the nose as in mouth, an elegant wine, very aromatic, all finally like Pinot black Quintessence 2005, of a red robe limpid cherry, have a morello cherry nose with aromas of blackcurrant and peony and a fresh mouth, a wine with quite molten tannins which requires a a little raised kitchen. Excellent Crémant of Alsace brut Plaisir Perlant is of nice golden robe, mixes roundness and nervousness, with these nuances in mouth of fresh fruits and acacia, of persistent foam, to envisage with aperitif as on shells.

Incontestably at the top of First Classified Great wines, in white as in red, which is really nothing. Exceptional Pessac-Léognan red 2006, very elegant, silky, of a diversity and complexity of intense aromas, prevailed by morello cherry and the ripe raspberry, a wine where the soil is perfectly also expressed with this very successful balsamic point, a beautiful length finally. Exceptional 2005, tempting, powerful, full, with rich and velvety tannins at the same time, with the cinnamon and blackberry connotations to the nose, fleshy as one likes them, with much structure, mouthfull, with the fruit compotes notes slightly spiced (morello cherry, blackcurrant…) and of liquorice, slow evolution. Superb Pessac-Léognan red 2004, of a red very dark, powerful, of a great complexity, with very silky tannins, a wine where all marvelously molten, whose balance is perfect, extremely is typified Graves Pessac-Léognan with notes of smoked, very complex aromas, really very a great wine. Remarkable 2003, powerful, more typified Cabernet-Sauvignon, but very soft, because Cabernets were very ripe, with the persistent and subtle aromas of ripe red small fruits with core, very structured, with full tannins, a wine all in distinction, of excellent evolution. The red 2002 is a wine fleshy and harmonious, very elegant, with the subtle and intense bouquet at the same time, prevailed by the humus and the fresh red small fruits, of full mouth, very traditional. Beautiful red 2001, where balance is perfect, large Bordeaux rather in the smoothness that in the powerfull, of a great classicism. Pessac-Léognan white 2006 is very a great success, rich and distinguished, with the nuances of citrus fruits and grilled almond, combining smoothness and persistence, a wine fleshy and nervous at the same time, dense and complex with the nose as in mouth, of a great fullness, suave and persistent. The 2005 are of beautiful but pale shining, very well-balanced, of a persistent freshness, a traditional wine which develops a powerful nose of ripe citrus fruits, with the wooded good melted, prevailed by a tough aromatic powerfull, of intense mouth where one finds the acacia and citrus fruits. The 2004 are one of its more great successes and one of most beautiful of all the area, with the subtle nose (acacia, hazel nut), all in distinction and persistence in mouth, with this characteristic freshness, one vintage perfect, traditional, of a beautiful balance, the white wines not liking the too hot vintages. The white 2003 is the vintage roundest with Chevalier, with prevailing of white flowers and dry small fruits, powerful but very delicate, a wine all finally. The white 2002 is splendid, powerful, of a beautiful acidity, with the very floral nose of elder tree, acacia, vanilla associated with citrus fruits notes.
